Civilwar.com - provides a wealtth of information on the Civil War.  It is sponsored by Premier Internet, Inc. which provides the site as a service for students researching the Civil War.  Click on the battles, which are listed chronologically and by state, to obtain the dates, casualties, and a brief  summary of a particular battle. CivilWarAlbum.com- a collection of albums of photos, panoramas, records, reports, summaries, and maps from several Civil War battles including Shiloh, Gettysburg, Ft. Washita, and Vicksburg.  The webmaster is Bruce Schulze, an Oklahoma  Highway Patrol officer and Civil War buff, who frequently updates the site. The Civil War Home Page - click on Battles and Battle Reports at the top of the homepage of this large Civil War web site.  You can also find a timeline of events leading to the Civil War and a collection of Civil War Photographs. 
Civil War Image Map - a site which offers detailed Civil War battle maps by state and county. Civil War Zone - This web site is organized into sections including Battle Orders (a collection of notable battles and campaigns fought during the Civil War), Biographies (brief biographies of the most distinguished generals of the Civil War), Chronology (a compilation of various noteworthy historical events listed in a day by day format), Documents (a collection of famous writings and speeches including such documents as the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation) and Songs (lyrics from songs from Union and Confederate Camps). CWSAC Battle Summaries by State - This is from the National Park Service.  The Civil War Sites Advisory Commission provides concise battle summaries of every battle in the Civil War.  Battles summaries include other names of the battle, location, campaign, dates, principal commanders, forces engaged, casualties, summary and results.  The battles are arranged by state and by campaign.
HistoryCentral- a site from Multieducator, a producer of educational software.  They provide summaries of various battles from their Civil War CD Rom.  The summaries are listed in chronological order on the homepage.  Links to other Civil War sites are also provided. Military History Group - this site is hosted by a commercial group, Collectors Net.  It provides brief information on fourteen Civil War battles.  The information provided covers the troop commanders, a brief description of the battle and battle statistics for those killed, wounded, and captured or missing along with links to related information on the battle.
 
 

 

A Nation Divided - a year by year timeline of the events of the Civil War with links to photographs of the participants and the major events.
 
Shotgun's Home of the American Civil War - a frequently updated site by Dick Weeks, a Civil War buff.  In the Civil War Battles section, there are accounts of each battle along with a drawing depicting the battle.  He also maintains sections on Civil War biographies, medicine, essays, letters about the war. United States Civil War - Click on a particular year and then a battle name to get a brief summary of the battle along with a black and white photograph.  The battles are listed in chronological order.  A fascinating fact is included at the end of each summary. United States Civil War - A link to Civil War battles by year can be found at this site along with information on the causes, leaders,  food and music of the Civil War.  You can also listen to a recording of the Gettysburg Address by actor, Jeff Daniels.
The United States Civil War Center - from Louisiana State University has a mission "to promote the study of the Civil War... and make available data on the Civil War."  It provides a index of over 6,000 links to Civil War material under such topics as causes, food, homefront, navies and weapons and artillery.  Click on Battles under Civil War Information on the homepage.
