Computer History Collection Interviews The Smithsonian National Museum of American History provides interviews with leaders of the computer industry.  Some of the people interviewed are Marc Andressen from Netscape, Bill Gates, and Don Wetzel, the inventor of the ATM.  These interviews are part of the Museum's Computer History Collection.
Discovery Cafe From the Patent Cafe, an commercial invention and innovation portal, comes a listing of Hispanic/Latino, Chinese, Black, Women and Canadian inventors with profiles and/or links to further information.   Check out the Kids Cafe at this site for information on inventing, ask the experts and science experiments.
The Great Idea Finder History The Great Idea Finder is a commercial site which promotes inventions and it offers researchers great information on inventions and inventors.  Check out  the Invention Facts and Myths for inventions and Inventor Profile for biographies

Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village presents information on Henry Ford and The Ford Motor Company, Thomas Edison, and The Wright Brothers.
History Channel try the History Channel's website.  Type in the name of your invention or inventors or inventions in the search window.  There are articles on Orville and Wilbur Wright and Thomas A. Edison along with information on the history of toys and games.
Innovativelives from the participants in the Smithsonian Institute's Jerome and Dorothy Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation, comes a series of articles on women inventors, lasers, Thomas Edison, etc.
International Black Inventions Museum The web site of this museum offers biographies of eleven different inventors including Dr. Patricia Bath and Granville Woods.
Inventor of the Week Archives part of the Lemelson-MIT Program on invention.  The inventors in this site's archives can be searched alphabetically.  You can also search by invention.
Inventors with  Mary Bellis at about.com a tremendous collection of sites from the search index, about.com.  Each site has been evaluated by Mary Bellis, an expert in the field of inventions. on a wide variety of inventors.  To find an individual inventor, use the search window.

An online encyclopedia which provides biographies of leaders who have shaped and influenced technology from George Eastman, the founder of Kodak, to John Kemeny, a co-developer of BASIC programming.
MacTutor History of Mathematics Archive from the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, comes an extensive site with biographies of over a thousand mathematicians.  Use the Biographies Index and try out the Mathematicians of the Day.  There is also a History Topics Index to let you explore more about your mathematician's theories and ideas.
Mathographies Collection of biographical sketches of mathematicians, from Archimedes to Descartes to Kemeny, written by the faculty of Bellevue Community College in Washington.
The National Inventors Hall Of Fame provides detailed biographies of inventors who are listed in the Hall of Fame.  Inductions are made annually at the Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio. You can select  inventor by using the The Inventors (alphabetical index) or an invention by using The Index of Inventions
Spotlight:  Biography Inventors Detailed biographical information on several American inventors from the Smithsonian Institute's Spotlight series.  The inventors range from Benjamin Franklin to Wilbur Wright.  An excellent set of links is offered at the end of the biographies.
STEPS Ireland's Institution of Engineering offers brief biographies of notable scientists and inventors including Alexander Graham Bell, Alfred Noble, Margaret Knight, and Stephanie Kwolek.

The American Experience A site from the PBS program, The American Experience  The Telephone.  There is a section on Forgotten Inventors, a Timeline of technology which charts inventions.  There are two sections of the site devoted to the telephone, People & Events and the Gallery which is a visual history of the telephone.
Common Things Around Us Are Often Discoveries & Inventions Histories of 92 different inventions including the anemometer, microwave, and x-rays.

Innovation Odyssey The Technology section of the Innovation Odyssey of the Boston History Collaborative presents biographical and technology information about the seven inventions and their inventors including the microwave oven, polaroid film, the telephone, strobe flash, and safety razor.
Renaissance Inventions and Technology information on inventions which had their roots in the Renaissance, from a student developed site on the Renaissance.  There is information on clocks, gunpowder, eye glasses, the printing press, flush toilets, microscopes, telescopes, submarines and the match.
Science Service Historical Image Collection The Science Service of the Smithsonian Institute provides images of 20th century scientific research such as automobiles, lasers, radio, telephone, and television as they appeared in newspapers along with the newspaper article featuring the invention.
Time Warp A student developed Thinkquest site which covers inventions in science, entertainment, medicine, and communication.  You will also find information on inventors such as Alexander Graham Bell, George Eastman and Henry Ford in the Father of Inventions section.
