About.com provides links to detailed information for an extensive list of battles.  Entercivil war battles in the search window. ChooseCivil War Battles or Civil War Battles page 2 of 2.
KidsClick a list of websites selected by the librarians from the Ramapo Catskill Library System in Middletown, New York.  Each site listed has a short summary and the grade levels it is appropriate for.  The best results came from entering the keywords civil war battles.
Ask Jeeves for Kids is a meta-search engine.  Meta-search engines retrieve matches for several different web indexes and search engines.  Ask Jeeves for Kids is prepared by the meta-search Ask Jeeves.  You can key in what you looking for in the form of a question such as "where can I find out about the battle of Antietam?"  "What kids are asking right now!" shows you the  questions currently being asked by other kids.  The results of your search will be grouped by search engine and often include Yahooligans and Britannica.com.
