Exploring Ancient World Cultures  designed as a supplement for students and teachers of ancient history by the University of Evansville,  Indiana.  It provides an introduction to Ancient Greece along with links to a chronology, essays, images and links to other websites.
The Gift of Prometheus - Sciences of Ancient Civilization A student developed Thinkquest site which explains the agriculutre, astronomy, communication, construction, mathematics, medicine, transportation and warfare of Ancient Greece.

The Greeks:  Crucible of Civilization  PBS presents an introduction to Greek history, culture, politics, art and warfare.   There is a detailed timeline covering 1400 B.C. to 337 B.C.  The timeline provides details on  Socrates, life in Athens, the Oracle at Delphi, and the first Olympics among many others.  Use the HTML version in the TJ library.
Hellenic Ministry of Culture provides information, maps and pictures on archaeological sites from Ancient Greece. 
History For Kids Professor Karen Carr of Portland State University provides information for middle school students on the history, environment, religion, philosophy, clothing, people, language and literature, food,  and sports of Ancient Greece.  Timelines and maps are included in this very easy to understand website.
History of Western Civilization  selected readings on the origins of democracy, · the Peloponnesian War, the Persian Wars and philosophy from  Dr. E.L. Skip Knox's course, the History of Western Civilization at Boise State University.

MrDonn.org - Daily Life in Ancient Greece< part of an extensive site on history by two middle school teachers.  This section lets you find about daily life in Ancient Greece.  This is very simply written.  Check with your teachers to see if this is an appropriate site for you.
Odyssey, Adventures in Archaeology an online journal with articles, trips, events, courses.  Scroll down to Greece and select an article on Mycenae or Greek Temples or Knossos and Crete, or Delphi.
Odyssey Online Greece  An easy to understand website which covers  the people, daily life, writing , mythology, archaeology, and death and burial in Ancient Greece.  You will find artwork from the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University and from the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester.
Perseus Encyclopedia  part of the vast Perseus Project based at Tufts University.  The Project is a digital library of hundreds of texts by major ancient authors along with entries for over 2,800 pieces of artwork ranging from vases to coins to buildings.  Use the terms in blue as links to additional information.
Thomas Martin's Overview of Archaic and Classical Greek History  provides an excellent guide to the resources available in the Perseus project
Teacher Oz's Kingdom of History a huge selection of links to information Ancient Greek history, timelines, maps, women, Sparta, architecture, art, and education from Mrs. Oz, a high school history teacher.  Don't skip this site.
