Information on the departments, bordering regions, countries, area, population, etc. are given along with an image of the region's flag, its use and an alternative flag.

Click on a region on the map of France to get information on your region. Use the pull down menus to select your region and cities of France and the type of information you need such as historical monuments, maps and guides, and parks and attractions, etc.  This is the official web site of Maison de la France which is dedicated to promoting France as a holiday destination.

Sharon Atchley and John Wylie provide detailed information and maps on each region of France.  There is a regional overview covers the location, history, geography, culture, and economy.  Each of the departments within the region are also explained along with information on the principal cities or towns and their points of interest.  You will also find links for the cuisine of the region and links to additional web sites. This site is designed to promote travel to France.  Brief information on each region includes a location map, an overview and links to departments, towns, and nformation on events, festivals, historical monuments, castles, and museums.

Tour de France
Camille Garnier, the Department Coordinator of the Department of French at Indiana University Southeast,  gives the historical background of each French region. This site is sponsored by the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the Internet Multicasting Service.  It offers information on travel, climate, accommodations, cuisine, events, sights, and festivals for ten regions of France.
World Statesman
